17 things I learned from being 17

Wow guys. Guess what? I am officially 18! that's insaine! I'm a grown-up I guess is what they call it, I think it's pretty misnamed though because I'm pretty sure as I got older the less mature I got. I also haven't grown up since the 8th grade, so...
Anyway, although I like to joke about living in neverland and never getting older or wiser, I have to admit I have learned some new things this year, I will share.

17 things I learned  from being 17:

1. You are never to young to be in love, or too old to play with mermaids

2. Everyone you meet has their own stories and battles they are dealing with

3. Good writing isn't always the stuff your english teacher has you read

4. Nobody can tell you how much you should or shouldn't care about something or someone

5. Wearing skirts is not only adorable, but also liberating

6. The best thing to be is kind

7. There's a reason to be in every moment. Even if you feel ready to move on to the next stage of life, if you have to wait, then there's more you need to learn

8. If at first your cake comes out really dry, try, try again

9. A good cuddle is sometimes (always) necessary

10. Crying is good for your body and releases pain killers

11. The right people can make any situation wonderful

12. Sunshine is the proper medicine for any ailment (except for sunburns)

13. Kissing is... not hard ;)

14. You should never have to convince someone to treat you the way you should be treated

15. Sometimes it takes a challenge for us to listen to what the important people are saying

16. Sometimes people change us just by being kind and wonderful and ours.

17. If you are having problems, it's probably because you haven't made a blanket fort in a while. Just saying.

Anyway, I hope this post was more than a waste of 30 minutes (I kept getting distracted ok!) and that I may remember the things I learned as a 17 year old. I guess it's time to move on to bigger and better 18 year old things, but don't worry, blog, I promise I won't grow up, I'll just make it seem like I am, and then everyone will be fooled but you and me, then we will have a good laugh and drink our juice boxes. Fifteen things I learned from being fifteen:

1. If you would rather not be around someone, then don't be around them.

2. Never loose your identity because you're trying to be someone else.

3. If you let Him, God will take your burdens and make them light. 

4. There is nobody that is going to do your work for you. You're challenges were made for you to face them. 

5. Sometimes it's ok just to sit down and take in the world as it is. 

6. Change is hard. But so worth it. 

7. Driving is better with good music playing. In fact, everything is better with good music playing.

8. You shouldn't give up on dreams. But you also shouldn't let them become your reality. 

9. Every person you meet has something worth while in them. It's just harder to find with some people than others.

10. You cannot have an adventure unless you go out and make an adventure. 

11. Sometimes you just need to make a decision and jump. 

12. Too much of anything will kill you. Even too much of the good things.

13. You're never too old to climb trees. You're never to little to climb mountains.

14. If things are coming to an end, it's only because other things are coming to a beginning.

15. Life is hard for everyone, but those who do not choose to find joy in the ordinary have it harder than anyone else.

No one else can I turn to when I have to get something off my chest.

I can talk to her about anything, we will be grandma's on a porch knitting one day.

Today is my best friend's birthday. 

Secretly, I like her everyday and I also want to strangle her most of those days, that's true friendship ladies and gentlemen. 

Secretly, I really like this dumb picture she took on my iphone and I don't know why.

Secretly, I have no idea what in the world I would do without her.

So, because I had so many secrets I thought I would add one more and throw her a surprise party. 

Secretly, I told her a lot of lies to get her to my house last night. 

Secretly, I almost forgot to tell her mom that we were throwing her a party.

Secretly, I sort of like Nacho Libre

Secretly, I hope she realizes how much she means to me. 

And since we're throwing out secrets here I might as well admit that I've been listening to songs from "Barbie the Princess and the Pauper" (well only one song) over and over again. Haters will hate, I will never grow up.

Mister Jeffrey

Short and sweet sounds good to me:

Jeffrey is my brother.

He is now 17.

It's an understatement to say that he's my hero. 

Tomorrow

I guess I'll keep it short and sweet. 

It's my sister's birthday tomorrow. 

19 is old. 

She's so old.

February 18th

14 Things I learned from being 14:

1. The quickest way to unhappiness is to compare yourself to someone else

2. When a friendship is mended it is stronger

3. Change is hard. Liking it is harder

4. Of all the places in the world to be, home is my favorite

5. Happiness is a choice. A hard choice, but an important one

6. Friends will come and go. Crying over that is just stupid, understandable, but stupid

7. Confidence is easier than the world will ever let you know

8. What you worry about today you will have forgotten in a year

9. Having cool shoes makes every day a little brighter

10. Do what makes you happy

11. The only flakes I want in my life are the ones in a cereal bowl

12. I like being alone too much. 

13. An awkward life is a happy life

14. Attention is scarce. You can either try and get it, our give it. 

I realize that yesterday marks 6 days since I've posted. 

I feel like a bad blogger. 

I wish I could tell you about some super cool thing I've done to make up for it. 

But the problem is I really haven't done anything different.

Singing at the hockey games

Pulling the DNA out of peas

Taking pictures of Mountains

I keep forgetting.

September 15th

Today is my best friends 14th birthday. It also happens to be the day my brother ran his first marathon. In Logan. This means I am not there for Emily's party, or to give her her present. I hope she will forgive me. She is an amazing girl and I am lucky to have her as my best friend. My life would suck without her.
