couple of ramblings of a childlike adult

A couple of things:
I am a rather big fan of that ukulele (yes, I know I'm holding it with the wrong hand, it works for me ok?) and that skirt and sweater and this picture in general so I don't even feel a little bad or embarrassed  about the fact that the main contents of this post is a huge picture of me. To paraphrase Henry David Thoreau, "I would not take so many pictures of myself if there were anyone I knew so well." Now. On to the very important point of this post. Ok, there isn't one. You caught me! I just haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd let you know I'm alive (mostly) and stuff! Lately I have been mostly watching large amounts of psych quite shamelessly, feeling conflicted about my place of business opening up after a two week break, breathlessly waiting for my best friend to come home in eight (!) days, and trying not to freak out about the fact that in two months from friday I will be moved out of the house I have lived in since long before my birth and going off to college. As you can tell, I've been kind of a mixture of absolutely terrified, and outrageously bored. I've also been drawing, not well, but what can you do? at least I'm trying. Just like blogging. I may not be doing it well, but hey, at least I'm trying. Maybe it will be better in 65 days when I start my personal essay class at BYU. (eep!)

Family Family

Well now, my family came into town so I guess I will put up a little post for you. There was much laughter, much winning of games (mostly by me ;), some tears and blowouts (mostly by my nephew) and lots of love.

I'm not as young as I was, I'm not as brave as I thought

Hello there blogosphere! Currently I am writing to you as a woman who has 1 more day (1!) of high school left forever. Isn't that crazy? Tomorrow is my last day of school! I guess life is getting on pretty fast! I'm not sure exactly what to write about finishing high school, so I will let you in on my moving on to bigger and better things playlist:

1. Be Gentle with me: The Boy Least Likely to
2. Tell the World: Eric Hutchinson
3. I will survive: Gloria Gaynor
4. Good to be Alive: Regan Rindlishbacher
5. Hello Goodbye: The Beatles
6. Afterlife: Ingrid Michealson
7. Borders: Feeder
8. The Brightest Lights: King Charles feat. Mumford and Sons
9. Movie Loves a screen: April Smith and the Great Picture Show
10. No Matter Where you are: Us the duo
11. Lifting the Sea: The Hunts
12. Light outside: Wakey!Wakey!
13. A Wink and a Smile: Harry Connick Jr.
14. You're only Human: Billy Joel
15. Bet on It: Zac Effron

I'm kinda a fan of it. If I had more space on my cd's I would probably add, like, all the other High School Musical songs, but I guess that kinda defeats the purpose of a playlist for the end of high school...

So I guess I should finish this up with some kind of narrative with a good moral that everyone can take into their lives (you can totally tell I've been watching too much girl meets world), so I wanted tell you the most important thing I learned in high school:

"The greatest thing, you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return"
ok, ok, so that's not from me, it's from Moulin Rouge! But it is my plan to write it somewhere in the high school to leave my mark (insert maniacal laugh here).

I guess the most important thing I learned in high school is to be kind, love others, and feast on the knowledge presented to you on a free public school platter. Love to learn, but more importantly, learn to love. Find a place in your heart for Christ-like-love for everyone around you. Don't compete, help each other, but don't stop taking care of yourself to make others happy. Forgive readily, and don't forget that being nice makes you cool. Don't fake who you are to please the people who are acting fake, and always carry emergency lady supplies.

Anyway, adios for now blog, I guess I will let you know how it is to step off into the unknown;

Breakfast, temple, swimming, snow cones, softball, photoshoots, cousins, and more snow cones.

unofficial summer

Even though summer vacation doesn't officially start until tomorrow, I've already found myself doing loads of fantastic summer things. I've gone hiking twice (Kasia is going to kill me when she finds out I took this picture), to an outdoor movie, and am soon off to the pool. Three cheers for summer 2014.

Just another pointless post.

Whatever. We like twirling ok?
Today during family night I discovered that I have the same personality as William Shakespeare. I am honestly intensely proud of this moment.
Mermaid class starts in 11 days. Fancy that.
I'm sorry the whole blogging thing hasn't been happening lately.
I've taken to drawing pickles with crayons. Stake Conference does weird things to me.
Last night I finished the Westing Game. I seriously recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle mysteries.
Today I drove by myself a little which is honestly the most freeing feeling in the world.
It's only taken me a week to write this post so I hope you enjoyed it.
Whatever and the end.

Lets pretend that never happened.

Sorry that I just kind of dropped off the planet. Lets pretened that never happened.
Now that I'm back, from outer space, lets get down to business.

I promise to try and be a better blogger, even when I think nobody is reading this.
I promise to write dumb things that is of no importance because that is what real life is.
I promise to post pictures as often as I can even if it's not a good picture.
Now please let me make good on my promises and start telling you dumb things that, in all honesty, are my life:

For your enjoyment here are some random insults that I take pride in coming up with while around people that drive me crazy:
"It's boys like you that make me understand why some girls choose to be nuns."
"I can think of 100 fictional characters that are more real than you."
"I'd rather kiss a dementor than you. Just so you know."

I like posts with no real purpose or structure so how about I catch you up on my life lately:

The week after Christmas: I realized that I'm an introvert because books and movies are more interesting than some of my friends. I also became addicted to a TV show called "Sherlock" and I am currently counting down the days until the new season comes out.

The week after the week after Christmas: I went to the lamest New Years Eve dance ever, then I stayed up until 4:00 in the morning watching Here Comes the Boom and talking about chicken wings with the coolest people in the entire world. I ate a cupcake, saw The Book Theif, and took some pictures which was awesome. Here's one of them, the rest are here

The week after the week after the week after Christmas (last week):
My cat judged me hard for watching the bachelor with my brother and yelling things like "I love you Juan Paublo!" I made a playlist with songs about being in a good mood and am currently listening to it like a boss. I said "whatever" way too many times, and was far too weary of people to try to make a conversation.

Well now, I guess that gets you all caught up with what I've been doing lately. Also, an award goes to whoever can name how many times I quoted song lyrics in this post.

Swag makes me gag

I decided that "swag" is a drug, that everyone is secretly taking. I am not interested in drugs, I keep the word of wisdom. Back off swaggies. The word "swag" actually has three informal definitions:
A) Money or goods taken by a thief or burglar.
B) Products given away for free, typically for promotional purposes.
C) Marijuana. Typically of a low grade.
Did you know that in the United States, 97 people die a year from "swag"? Ok, so I just made that up, but at least 97 swaggies are probably murdered a year by the folks who find them obnoxious. Swag is deadly. I just want to let everyone in on a little secret now, "swag" is not a synonym with "cool". It is a synonym with "cheap marijuana". In case you are suffering a bad case of "swagvocabitis" I have a few suggestions for you on some new words to describe yourself that are actual synonyms with "cool":
-Lover of family
-Subject of a black and white photo
-Owner of a nice camera
-Online shopper
-Watcher of "My Cat From Hell"
-Late sleeper
-Kind to others
-Close to the spirit
-Player of Nancy Drew
-Reader of good books
-Open minded
-Hard worker
-Lover of the light
-Shakespearean enthusiast
-Kindred spirit
Well, now that your vocabulary consists of more words than "swag" and "yolo", I hope you will start to change the world, one synonym at a time. Now go out, take chances, make mistakes and (most importantly) be cool and not swaggy.

Hipsterween

I guess it was a holiday or something because Hannah and I dressed up as missionaries. For the win.

Basically Nancy Drew has taken over my entire life. I have no time for anything else except maybe candy. Halloween was too good to me.

My favorite thing about fall is that the stars come out at about 6:30 and so after dinner I can just sit around craning my neck getting lost in the stars.

Sick as a dog is how I live each day. Just sitting around, feeling awful nasty, but those who don't complain are never pitied. It's a shame I all too often complain.

My artistic tendencies have dried up completely. Two weeks ago I was all for drawing and painting but now all I want to do is curl up in bed and watch Pride and Prejudice.

Food is my best friend. Food understands. Food doesn't make me do homework. Food doesn't flirt with boys instead of talking to me. Food has my back. I love you, Food.

They say "It's going to snow soon." In my language that means "Yeah basically, it's Christmas right now, you should probably pull out the nativities."

Some people call me lazy but they don't know that every day I work very hard to improve my most pronounced skill. It takes hard work and effort to be this good at procrastinating.

That's it for now folks, I've got to move on now to something else that can distract me from what I should actually be doing.

Reasons Why Today Was Awesome:
1: I visited that beautiful place we all love^
2: I came home from my Grandma's house with a plate full of cookies and a pumpkin.
3: I decided to name the before mentioned pumpkin, Bingley.
4: I got my hair cut, this is always bitter sweet for me.
5: My dad comes home tonight.
6: I finally took a few pictures.
7: I forgot to put on makeup this morning and I just didn't care.
8: Sister missionary farewells. For the win.
9: Pride & Prejudice music always.
10: It was Sunday and Sundays are always awesome.

Fortune Favors the Brave

Summer so far has been great fantastic perfect
Last week I took a creative writing class and learned that 9:00 is too early for me to write.
This month in June I learned that adventure is not hard to find.
I've gone hiking, swimming, camping, biking.
I've hung out with family, and friends.
July is promising to be even better.
What a great invention summer was.
5 stars for that one.

It's actually sort of creepy

In case I haven't said it enough, I have pretty gorgeous friends.
Maybe I'm a creep but I like quotes and pictures of these people so I made these things.
Enjoy:

March the fart

March was a bad month for blogging.
But I got myself that lion t-shirt so it's ok.
True friends. Who knew?

Remember when

Hey guess what? Life lives in the little things or whatever, so here's some little things:

Remember when you came home and we ate at JCW's?

Remember when you sent me snapchats of you acting like Miranda?

Remember when you shaved your head in support of breast cancer?

Remember when we went to the book fair?

Remember when we found a tree house in your back yard?

Remember when you kidnapped me on my birthday and brought me a mustache cake?

Remember when Brooklyn had to get stitches because she was dancing like this?

I realize that yesterday marks 6 days since I've posted.
I feel like a bad blogger.
I wish I could tell you about some super cool thing I've done to make up for it.
But the problem is I really haven't done anything different.
Just regular days filled with
Sleeping in until 3
Setting the toaster on fire
Watching Dave Ramsey videos
Singing at the hockey games
Pulling the DNA out of peas
Taking pictures of Mountains
Also, my birthday is on Monday
I keep forgetting.
Thats all.

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

it's a holiday or something.

Happy Halloween kids.
or should I say
Happy go get candy from strangers day.
Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that it is ironic
that every other day of the year
children are advised to "not take candy from strangers"
but on Halloween, there parents make them do it.
Just saying. Whoever made this holiday clearly didn't know the meaning of
Stranger Danger.

sneak a peek.

Well ladies and gents, Me and Hannah had ourselves a fall leaves party.
(AKA we spent more time making the pile than jumping in it)
But since my computer is a dunce head
and somehow manages to make all my pictures that were so carefully edited into one picture
(and not even my favorite one)
I only have  3 pictures of our fun fall festivities when I should have 10.
So enjoy one for now and keep waiting for me to
stop banging my head on the wall long enough to edit the rest.
Cheers!
