I am a rather big fan of that ukulele (yes, I know I'm holding it with the wrong hand, it works for me ok?) and that skirt and sweater and this picture in general so I don't even feel a little bad or embarrassed about the fact that the main contents of this post is a huge picture of me. To paraphrase Henry David Thoreau, "I would not take so many pictures of myself if there were anyone I knew so well." Now. On to the very important point of this post. Ok, there isn't one. You caught me! I just haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd let you know I'm alive (mostly) and stuff! Lately I have been mostly watching large amounts of psych quite shamelessly, feeling conflicted about my place of business opening up after a two week break, breathlessly waiting for my best friend to come home in eight (!) days, and trying not to freak out about the fact that in two months from friday I will be moved out of the house I have lived in since long before my birth and going off to college. As you can tell, I've been kind of a mixture of absolutely terrified, and outrageously bored. I've also been drawing, not well, but what can you do? at least I'm trying. Just like blogging. I may not be doing it well, but hey, at least I'm trying. Maybe it will be better in 65 days when I start my personal essay class at BYU. (eep!)

couple of ramblings of a childlike adult
A couple of things:

Just another pointless post.
Whatever. We like twirling ok?
Today during family night I discovered that I have the same personality as William Shakespeare. I am honestly intensely proud of this moment.
Mermaid class starts in 11 days. Fancy that.
I'm sorry the whole blogging thing hasn't been happening lately.
I've taken to drawing pickles with crayons. Stake Conference does weird things to me.
Last night I finished the Westing Game. I seriously recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle mysteries.
Today I drove by myself a little which is honestly the most freeing feeling in the world.
It's only taken me a week to write this post so I hope you enjoyed it.
Whatever and the end.

Who says we have to let it go?
A few secrets I think should be made know:
The first day of high school, you're going to step into the school and think to yourself, "This is nothing like High School Musical."
High School does not last for your entire life. It may seem that way, but don't worry, it's actually only three years. What?
If you do your hair in the morning, I promise you're day will be better. I don't know why it works, it doesn't even need to look good, it will just make it better.
Sometimes, the books that you need to read for school are actually really good books with interesting morals, so don't let the analyzing ruin your perspective.
The teacher that work at the school aren't actually prison wardens or devil worshipers, they're nice people who want you to learn if you just give them a chance.
Even if you feel a little overwhelmed by high school and all that it implies, there should always, always be time in your life for breakfast. Just saying.
Sleep is priceless and I promise you it's ok to choose sleeping over a social activity. Your friends will understand, and if they don't, then their priorities are completely screwed up and you probably don't mean that much to them anyway.
Classical music is not actually a sin and if you stopped to give it a chance by listening to it while you do your homework, you might find it's actually very nice.
It's not worth it to settle for a grade. No teacher is going to beat you for expecting more out of yourself. I promise that if you ask, you might just find a way to make things better.
If important things in your life like school, or religious beliefs are falling by the wayside in your schedule then maybe something you're doing is really not that important and should be dropped out of your life.
You don't have to be anyone but yourself. You don't have to follow any rules about who you are. You don't have to be your mother, or your father, or your sister. You don't have to be a certain type of person. It's never to late to change who you are if you're not who you want to be.
Anyway, I hope you didn't mind that this post didn't have any pictures and also is very rambled and really has no meaning. I was told to "write while the fire was in me" and apparently watching High School Musical lights a fire.

Hipsterween
I guess it was a holiday or something because Hannah and I dressed up as missionaries. For the win.
Basically Nancy Drew has taken over my entire life. I have no time for anything else except maybe candy. Halloween was too good to me.
My favorite thing about fall is that the stars come out at about 6:30 and so after dinner I can just sit around craning my neck getting lost in the stars.
Sick as a dog is how I live each day. Just sitting around, feeling awful nasty, but those who don't complain are never pitied. It's a shame I all too often complain.
My artistic tendencies have dried up completely. Two weeks ago I was all for drawing and painting but now all I want to do is curl up in bed and watch Pride and Prejudice.
Food is my best friend. Food understands. Food doesn't make me do homework. Food doesn't flirt with boys instead of talking to me. Food has my back. I love you, Food.
They say "It's going to snow soon." In my language that means "Yeah basically, it's Christmas right now, you should probably pull out the nativities."
Some people call me lazy but they don't know that every day I work very hard to improve my most pronounced skill. It takes hard work and effort to be this good at procrastinating.
That's it for now folks, I've got to move on now to something else that can distract me from what I should actually be doing.

Happy as can be
You know that primary song you had to sing every Father's day? The one that goes like this:
"I'm so glad when daddy comes home, happy as can be. Clap my hands and shout for joy then climb up on his knee." Well that song is currently stuck in my head, and you know why? Because my dad's coming home tomorrow. That's all.
I've turned myself into a zombie by reading a ridiculous amount each day. It all started when I was reading Pride and Prejudice and they used the word "fortnight" a lot. (a fortnight is about two weeks, by the way) Then the next few days after I finished reading Pride and Prejudice I kept reading a lot and I decided I wanted to keep reading a lot every day for a fortnight. Just so I could use the word fortnight.
Every now and then I try and imagine what people's inner animals might be. Once someone told me that my inner animal was a lion and I kinda stuck to that. So far I have given out the inner animals, a fox, a gazelle, a flamingo, and the cat that Esma turns into in The Emperor's New Groove. I've decided sometimes inner animals can be changed depending on someone's mood. Lately my inner animals have been Crookshanks (Hermione's cat), something dead that still has to get up and walk around, and Elvis. I'm just sayin', he's an animal.
Goodbye readers or whatever. I imagine I'll write again in about a fortnight.
The End

The blog immune system.
You've probably heard this 100 times,
But I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.
You've probably heard 100 excuses.
Here's one more:
My blog has the flu.
It's just not up to posting.
It doesn't have the strength.
The sickness is quite serious actually.
I wouldn't say it's dying but it's having a hard time.
But lucky for you,
Every tine a blog gets sick,
(If it doesn't die of the disease,)
It get's a little bit stronger.
So that means when my blog gets better
It will be able to resist sickness better.
Then you will get posts more often.
So bear with me folks.
Bear with me.

Ramble away the day
Ramblings of late:
I have this awkward habit of ripping out my eyebrows. I don't know what it means, hopefully I don't create awful bald spots in the near future.
Usually, at the start of a new season I like to post about what I'm excited about and what I'm dreading but I'm afraid I can't do that this season. The reason is, there simply are no cons to fall. Thats all. I can't think of anything wrong with it at all.
I have a stalker. It's fine. Actually a few stalkers who are really obvious but think I don't know. Word to the wise, if you plan on stalking someone, don't do it in packs. Just saying.
My math teacher seems to believe that PG kids are a little on the slow side. Well at least he did until all the best scores on his most recent test were PG kids. That's right KP, chew on that.
I was recently asked if I would rather swallow a fly or a caterpillar. I chose a caterpillar because I read somewhere that if you swallow a fly you have to go on to swallow a spider to catch the fly and that spider wriggles and jiggles and wriggles inside you. Plus then you have to go on to swallow a bird and a cat and a dog and it just seems like a lot of work. Perhaps I'd die!
In case you're some reader who actually cares when I don't post things I usually post, I promise I had a spiritual sunday planed, it just got delayed. Very very delayed so I'll have it for you tomorrow deal?

Anyways, happy fall kids, watch out for flies...

Call life alert! I've fallen asleep and I can't get up!
Some days I accidentally wake up at 11:30pm, think that the 11 is a six and do my hair in the middle of the night. I can't tell the difference between midnight and morning.
I decided that by wearing cheetah print shoes I am literally taking this day from normal to awesome. Just by a pair of shoes.
Since school started, my left brain has eaten my right brain and become morbidly obese. In case that sentence went right over your head, right brain deals with creativity and left brain deals with logic. The teachers at school murdered my right brain and now my left brain is all that's left. This is a difficult thing to deal with when basically 70% of the things I like to do use my right brain. I'll let you know when it's resurrected. Until then, don't expect to much from this blog.

This post is whatever.
I have many posts that remain drafts. Unseen and unread. I fear the poor things probably feel second-rate and useless so I thought I would share my favorites with you:
(July 21st) "My hair and clothes smell Heavenly. This must be what it feels like to be you."
(July 17th) "Do I have too much to say? Or nothing to say? Is it both? Or neither? Maybe I have too much desire to say and nothing to fill that desire."
(July 15th) "Those who do not read will live once and die. Those who read live 1,000 times and never truly die."
(July 9th) "How foolish I will believe myself now a year from this day when I look back at all that I thought and all I dreamed of. But you can't really live an interesting life without being a fool sometimes."
(July 5th) "Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be"
(June 30) "Sometimes I wish I was a hipster but then I remember that life means more when you live it than when you take a picture of it to prove you've lived. If all you have to show for a life is a picture then really you haven't lived. A better proof of living is a life. Plus then I remember that hipster means a trend follower and I don't want to be that."
(May 31) "Bless your beautiful hide,
wherever you may be.
We haven't met yet
but I'm willing to bet,
You're the one for me."
There you go drafts. I hope you feel important.

Making history
This blog is starving, but I'm listening to High School Musical and my clothes smell like my dryer sheets so it's all alright. I've found that I hate blogs that write too many words and say nothing but I've also found that I don't care so suck it up and read, it will get you ready for school to start again.
Once upon a time I creeped in the middle of the night (aka 10:30) with two good friends to a boys house and threw rocks at his window. As luck would have it, he wasn't home. I think I said YOLO a lot that night. I hate myself for that just so you know.
Stake dances, I've become an expert. Let me teach you the trick to slow dances. A) Mentally will yourself not to sweat on your hands. I believe in the power of the mind. B) Develop the ability to make slow dance small talk i.e. "Where do you want to go on your mission?" "Who would play you in the movie of your life?" "if your phone had a voice, whose would you want it to sound like?" C) Never ever, ever ask what color their toothbrush is. It's just getting old.
If you haven't ever read Ella Enchanted then you are missing in a piece of literary magic. I swear that book will never get old. The ending always brings me to tears and I don't cry easily. Well except lately, lately I cry over everything and then people have to put up with me crying to them over the phone or opening all the cupboards.
My cousin and his wife have two little boys, they are huge, curly haired, polynesian boys and they're adorable. They know my name but like to call me "girl" or sometimes "blue girl". Maybe I should stop wearing blue around them. They like to pick unripe grapes off the vine and pucker up their faces when they realize they're super sour. They are coming to live at my house for two days and I can't wait. I had better take lots of naps until then, they are very exhausting.

We dance in the rain in outfits right out of the seventies. We listen to Billy Joel and Imagine Dragons and let our hair be natural. We stare at the clouds and see dinosaurs and hearts. We eat popsicles and watch the Lorax.
We go hiking and walk up the river. We jump into the waterfall, we run from the bees. We jump into the lake with our clothes on. We float on tubes and chase after baby ducks. We go to get curtsey cones and can't come back because you insult the chef.
We ride to the store and buy Gelato. We bribe my sister to take us to the movies. We sneak spoons past the employees and eat our icecream right there in the movie.
We ride our bikes to the PG pool. We see old friends and people we didn't want to see. We race down the slides and you beat me every time. We yell at idiots and spy from the hot tub. We buy water bottles and ignore the drinking fountain. We got lost on the way up but back is fast.
We go to your house and steal your otterpops. We eat homemade popcorn and talk about babies. We drive home and take the long way. We talk about life and fears and all the things we don't understand. I get sleepy and wish I knew the right words to say. You tell me it doesn't matter. You just wanted to talk.
I find it hard to post in the summer. Each day something happens to blog about but in the summer I stop caring about showing the world that I lived. I start caring a little more about the actual living.

23 post beginners.
1.Blogs. Journals. What's the diff?
2.I'm scraping the edges of my brain for posting ideas now.
3.I test and then test and test some more.
4.My back's out of line and the chiropractor is going to twist me like a pretzel.
5.Hallway swimming isn't as glamourous as it sounds. My brother cleans those floors and I promise you don't want to slide around on them.
6.I'm writing a poem about my pile of laundry; I'll finish it as soon as I find my room.
7.Maybe I should start doing spiritual posts on Sundays. That might get in the way of my naps.
8.I have a doctorates degree in time wasting and procrastinating. Or I will as soon as I write my thesis. Eh. I'll do it later.
9.The camera is lonely. It needs pictures.
10.I could probably use all the oil on my face to make oil paints. But I won't, because that would be nasty.
11.I don't think I'll ever fully understand punctuation and maybe I'll just stop trying.
12.My favorite pass time is to not do whatever it is I should be doing. From this perspective, I get a lot done.
13.Raise your hand if you hate racist jokes. Actually raise your hand if you hate anything at all and we can be friends.
14.Everyone thinks my lion shirt is a tiger. Ignorant idiots.
15.Shakespeare is my homeboy. Let's leave it there.
16.Who else likes it when their dad brings home candy from Great Britain?
17.I wish Teacher Appreciation Week was every week. I also wish we didn't have school during Teacher Appreciation Week. I bet the teachers would appreciate that.
18.These are all things that I could post about but probably never will incase you missed that point.
19.I'm addicted to crayons, water and chapstick.
20.Who else names zits? I find it helps them heal faster. My newest friend is called Don Jon the coward. More Shakespeare. Sorry.
21.This part of the school year is like the end of an awful movie. You just want it to end.
22.This part of a post is similarly annoying.
23.Whatever.

Titles are too mainstream.
Mainstream is the stupidest word ever invented.
Truth time:
I hate when there's too many words.
Whether it be posts, comments or facebook (seriously).
I take one good look at a big long chunk of words and I think "I'm not going to read that."
Not unless you're some kind of celebrity like Megan Livingston or something.
I also hate posts without pictures.
"but I don't have a picture!"
That's the main reason for blog dormancy for me.
See that picture over there?
It's just so there's some kind of picture for this post. I just stole it of Pinterest thinking "hey, this is kind of cool. I'll just use it and pretend to be a hipster."
Writters block. Sorry. Also I'm a little distracted. End of year tests. Brain fried. Unable to form complete sentences.
You want to know what's cool about this post? I wrote it while wearing a lion shirt and wasting time.

Word Vomit
My posts are getting further and further apart.
It's whatever.
Here's a story:
Once upon a time, I head-butted a kid. It was an accident.
Now whenever awkward things happen I think
"At least I didn't take someone out with my face"
For example:
"I'm too short to reach my scripture cubby in seminary, but at least I'm not head-butting a kid"
"I'm pretending I know how to play poker, but at least I'm not head-butting a kid"
"The pin keeping my skirt modest just came undone, but at least I'm not head-butting a kid"
"Every-other song at this dance is a slow song, but at least I'm not head-butting a kid"
"My P.E. teacher just yelled at me for taking all her tampons, but at least I'm not head-butting a kid"
John Bytheway's voice makes me happy.
Here's a quote I heard from him on Saturday
"For every Nephi that leads, there's a Sam who will follow."
That's quality stuff.
This post is kind of a mess.
YOLO.
YOLO.
Lately my best friends are Phineas, Ferb, and my bicycle, Phil.
Also this cat, which is my birthday present.
